Chris (Garcia) has been with Gold Star since 1999, and has
taught in practically every aspect of our program: Mini-Stars, school-aged boys
and girls gymnastics, and our Level 4 team. He has gained the respect of every
coach on staff because of his extensive knowledge of gymnastics in general and
Gold Star in particular, paired with his easy going nature and upbeat style
of teaching. In the summer of 2005, Chris was promoted to afternoon Floor Manager,
a role he shares with our other Chris, as they trade off time between coaching
and supervising. Originally trained as a cheerleader, and having competed on
an All-Star Cheer Team since 1994, he began coaching cheerleading and tumbling
in 1996. Chris has his U.S.A. Gymnastics Safety Certification, C.P.R. and First
Aid Certifications. In the winter of 2002 he began working with our Level 4
gymnasts, showing the same unwavering dedication he has with all of his students,
and has helped to mold the group into an award winning team. Chris provides
a positive role model for all of his students because of his generosity with
his time, his unending energy towards his classes, his good-natured approach
to life, and his constant respectfulness of others.
