Jessica O. began coaching for Gold Star in the winter of 2003.
Jessica was a gymnast herself, competing through Level 6. She taught in our
summer camp program throughout her college years. During the school year she
coached for a gymnastics club in Davis while working on her Bachelor’s
in Human Development from U.C. Davis. At the other club she taught all levels
of preschool through competitive gymnastics, and was their birthday party coordinator.
Jessica has now graduated and returned to Gold Star, teaching in the afternoons
and on Saturdays while working on her pre-requisites for a Master’s Program.
Jessica hopes to return to graduate school in the fall of 2008. Her love of
school and learning is obvious in her teaching. Jessica brings a bright smile
whenever she is on the gym floor. She is knowledgeable and safety conscious,
but even more she celebrates every achievement with the kids. She helps them
to recognize their successes—always giving high fives and words of encouragement.
She adores gymnastics and every child she teaches comes to love the sport right
along with her.
