Aja

Aja has been with Gold Star since 2000. She was originally hired to work the front desk, but in the spring of 2001 she was pulled onto the floor to help substitute a class, and she proved to be a natural and caring teacher. Since this time she has received her U.S.A. Gymnastics Safety Certification, and C.P.R. and First Aid certifications. She has taught in our MiniStar, recreational, camp, birthday, and Rhythmic programs. Her own talents are extensive as she has been dancing since she was 3, and playing the clarinet for the past 11 years. She has an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Social Sciences from San Jose State University. She volunteered for the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Task Force before enrolling in a Masters-Doctorate program in Clinical Psychology. Aja continues to help us at the desk one day a week, but her musicality and love of movement can be seen every time we ask her to cover a class, as she takes hula-hooping and freeze dancing to new heights – an energy our students adore.
