Amy came to Gold Star in 2011 as a parent of two MiniStar students. She was a cheerleader starting in middle school and continuing through college, where she was awarded National Cheerleading Association’s All-American Cheerleader in 1996 and 1997. Amy graduated from the Rice University with a Bachelor’s in English, Art & Art History, and a Master’s in Architecture, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art History from Stanford University. She is First Aid and C.P.R. certified, and coached cheer, gymnastics, and tumbling throughout high school and college. In grad school, she lead seminars, was a teaching assistant and private tutor, but when Amy introduced her two girls to the world of gymnastics she realized how much she missed coaching. Amy’s family shares her with us on Saturday mornings, where her quick smile, teaching prowess, and endless patience direct our preschooler students through an amazing class every week. We are overjoyed to have Amy as a part of our weekend staff.
